September Marival FAM Recap

Four days in Puerto Vallarta, three incredible Marival properties, a group of travel advisors, and more content, experiences, laughs, and memories than we could fit into one camera roll.

The Social Passport Marival FAM has been such a fun mix of exploring, learning, creating content, and actually experiencing everything these resorts have to offer. Here’s a look back at everything we did on this trip!

Day One: Welcome to Puerto Vallarta

Our adventure started with a little bit of a unique travel day as we used the Cross Border Express to fly from Tijuana to Puerto Vallarta. Once we landed, we transferred over to our home for the week, Marival Armony, where we were greeted with cool towels and welcome drinks.

After settling in and having a little downtime, we kicked things off with a full site tour of Marival Armony. It was the perfect way to get familiar with the resort and start seeing all the details that make it such a great option for travelers.

That evening, we had dinner at Essence, and everything was amazing. After a full travel day, we called it an early night so we could recharge for everything we had planned for the days ahead.

And this was just the beginning.

Day Two: Exploring the Marival Collection

Day two was all about getting out and exploring more of what the Marival Collection has to offer.

We started the morning transferring over to Marival Emotions and Marival Distinct, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the differences between the three properties.

Marival Emotions immediately brought the energy. We got to experience a short performance from The Greatest Showman, take part in a cocktail class, enjoy massages, and even experience shaman cleansings. There was something happening around every corner, and we got a great look at the entertainment and activities available to guests.

Marival went all out for us, and even put my logo up in the theater and the night club!

From there, we toured Marival Distinct, which offered a completely different feel. Distinct is also family friendly, but more laid back. We also spent some time at their beach club Mozza Mare, where we had cabanas and champagne while enjoying some beach and pool time.

It was one of those days where we were constantly moving, experiencing something new, and gathering ideas we could take back to our clients.

We were able to capture the perfect mix of fast paced and fun content, as well as laid back and relaxing content. We wrapped up the day with dinner at Silk, Marival Emotions’ Asian restaurant.

Day Three: Wellness, Content & a Little Courage

Day three started with yoga, which was the perfect way to start our wellness day.

After yoga, we headed down to the pool for some dedicated content time. Fresh coconuts were waiting for us at the pool, and they made the cutest addition to everyone’s photos and videos.

Then came one of my favorite activities at the resort: the ice bath challenge.

Most of our group decided to give it a try, and watching everyone’s reactions was definitely part of the fun. It’s one of those experiences that pushes you just a little outside your comfort zone and makes for some pretty memorable content.

That evening, we slowed things down with sound healing, which was such a unique experience. Afterward, we had dinner at Divum, where we enjoyed upscale local Mexican cuisine.

After a day full of wellness activities, we went down for the dancing class by the lobby bar to end it all!

Day Four: Content, Cabana Time & Sayulita

Day four started with one of the most fun ways possible: floating breakfast.

We spent the morning in the private cabana area capturing content, and everyone was able to get some really great photos and videos. Between the floating breakfast, the cabana setting, and everyone’s creativity, there was definitely no shortage of content being created.

Once we wrapped up at the pool, we shifted gears and spent some time editing. Everyone worked together, shared ideas, and helped each other create videos. One of my favorite parts of this trip has been seeing everyone collaborate instead of just creating content on their own.

When we finished up at the pool, we headed to one of the advisors’ rooms because they had the best balcony view. Naturally, that meant it was time for another round of content. We all took advantage of the view to capture balcony photos and videos before getting ready for our evening excursion.

Then it was time for Sayulita. One of the advisors had brought up the trend "Color Hunting", and I loved this idea! I gave each advisor a color to hunt in Sayulita. Their job was to take eight photos of things in their color, and then I put it all together in a video for them to post and collaborate with each other on socials. The end result was SO cute!

What makes a Social Media FAM Different

It’s not just about experiencing the resort, it’s about learning how to turn that experience into content you can continue using long after you’ve gone home.

Throughout the FAM, I work with each advisor on how to shoot, create, and think about content so they leave with more than just a camera roll full of pretty pictures. They leave with content they can use for weeks and even months to come.

One of my favorite things is seeing advisors from FAMs six+ months ago still using content we created together. That’s when I know we did our job!

And while this particular FAM was hosted at Marival, the content we create isn’t limited to promoting Marival. An advisor can use this content to promote Mexico in general, or beach content to promote almost any beach destination. They can use pool, food, room, or lifestyle content to market all kinds of vacations.

The goal is to teach advisors how to create content that works beyond the FAM, so one trip can continue helping them market their business long after they’re home.
