June Riverside Luxury Cruises Social Media FAM Recap
When people think about FAM trips, they often think of tons of site inspections, room tours, and resort training after resort training. While those elements are important, The Social Passport FAM is designed with a much bigger purpose in mind.
Yes, we learn the destination. Yes, we experience the ship. But we also focus on helping travel advisors become more confident content creators, stronger marketers, and more connected business owners.
Our first-ever European FAM took us down the Danube aboard the Riverside Mozart, and it has been unlike anything we've done before. Here's a look back at the week!

Day 1: Setting Sail & Settling In
The group transferred to the port around noon after a slow, easy morning thanks to Riverside's included transfers, and honestly, there's nothing like starting a trip off with a great transfer experience.
Check-in came with cold towels and champagne, and then the best kind of surprise: every advisor's room had been upgraded to a Riverside Suite, courtesy of our incredible FAM partner. Advisors had signed up without even knowing what room category they'd land in, so getting to spring that news on them in person is one of my favorite moments to create.
After a few hundred photos of the rooms, the group met up for a casual lunch that redefined what "buffet" means. The best fresh cooked steak pasta that could hold its own against any restaurant menu.
The rest of the afternoon was spent capturing content around the ship, taking a quick walk off at port, unpacking, and then gathering for the mandatory safety briefing. On a ship this small, with just 42 guests total, those port talks end up being some of the best parts of the day. It's where you meet the crew, hear what's ahead, and start actually talking to the other guests on board.
Dinner brought wine, schnitzel, and easy conversation flowing across the table. I always keep day one intentionally low-key before the coaching and content-capture ramps up. Advisors need room to settle in, get to know each other, and not feel like they've walked straight into a work trip.
Waking up the next morning, it hit me all over again: I was hosting my first FAM in Europe. I'll save the sappier reflections for the end of the week. For now, on to Vienna.

Day 2: Vienna and a World Cup Night
Day two started with our first excursion. Panoramic Vienna, a bus tour that felt very well timed given the unexpectedly warm "Spanish weather," as our guide called it. We hopped off partway through for a walking tour around St. Stephen's Cathedral with some free time to explore before heading back to the ship for another excellent lunch. The food on this ship has impressed everyone with every offering.
That afternoon was our first official social media training. We talked through what advisors genuinely enjoy about social media, and what tends to trip them up. That honest starting point ended up shaping a lot of the training for the rest of the trip.
The night wrapped up with dinner and a very fitting distraction: watching Austria play Argentina in the World Cup, in Austria. A full day, and already a trip that felt like it was building real momentum.

Day 3: Castles, Wine & Coming Out of Your Shell
We started the morning in Dürnstein with a hike up to the castle. It was a genuinely challenging climb, but the view at the top made every step worth it. Afterward, the group wandered the town, did a little shopping, and sampled apricot liqueur, chocolate, and jam along the way.
After lunch onboard while sailing to Weissenkirchen, we did a walking tour through the town paired with a wine tasting. Austrian wine never disappoints, and every pour on this tour was distinct in its own way.
We fit in another social media training session before freshening up for dinner at Atelier, a small-plates spread of Hungarian and Austrian dishes that just kept coming and somehow got better with every course.
This was the day I really started to notice advisors coming out of their shells. More questions about content, more conversations between people who'd been strangers three days earlier. That shift is always one of my favorite things to watch happen in real time.
Day 4: Choose Your Own Adventure
Day four gave advisors options: split off onto excursions, or spend the day relaxing on the ship.
One group crossed into the Czech Republic for a day in ÄŚeský Krumlov, a fairytale of a town they explored on foot, complete with shopping and lunch. Despite the ten-hour day, they came back saying it was completely worth it.
Another group headed to Salzburg for an iconic tour that also took most of the day, but they said it lived up to every bit of hype and they came back buzzing with excitement from the day.
The third group — mine — stayed closer, exploring St. Florian's Monastery in the port of Linz. This wasn't even the original plan; we'd intended to do the Linz city walk, but once the guides described what the monastery tour included, the plan changed fast. We toured the crypt, the library, and even got a private organ concert. It's easily one of my favorite excursions of any FAM I've hosted.
Everyone regrouped back onboard for the port talk and dinner, and the day capped off with a surprise: a singer came aboard for post-dinner entertainment, and more than a few of us ended up on the dance floor.

Day 5: Beer, Bavaria & Editing Breakthroughs
We woke up in Germany and did the day right — beer at 9 a.m. — before heading into Passau, the City of Three Rivers, for a city tour with stops for drinks and bites along the way. This town has quickly become one of my favorite river cruise stops.
After a chocolate tasting, we had the chance to attend a local organ concert at St. Stephen's Cathedral, home to the largest cathedral organ in the world, with nearly 18,000 pipes. That's the thing about Riverside — there's almost always a moment like this built into an excursion that you don't see coming.
Back onboard, we dug into a two-hour social media training focused entirely on editing. The number of light bulb moments in that room was incredible, and advisors walked away with tools they'll be using long after this trip ends.

Day 6: Waltzing, Abbeys & Sunset on the Top Deck
We started the day with some downtime before an onboard Waltz performance and class. Everyone joined in, learned the steps, and had an absolute blast doing it.
From there, we headed into Melk for a tour of Melk Abbey, led by a guide so knowledgeable she made the whole experience even better. No photos allowed inside somehow made it feel even more special — a moment you had to actually be present for.
Back on the ship, a surprise was waiting: dinner on the top deck at sunset. The views, the food, the company — it was one of the best nights of the entire trip so far.
One more day to go, and it's already hard to believe how much this FAM has delivered. More to come as we wrap up in the final stretch!

Day 7: A Slow Morning & an Unforgettable Farewell
The day started a little slower, and after such a packed itinerary, it was exactly what we needed. Room service, cappuccinos, a little work, and an incredible spa treatment made for the perfect, relaxing start to the day. I honestly could have booked a spa service every single day.
After one last lunch on the top deck, it was time to get ready for the evening everyone had been talking about.
We had the incredible privilege of attending Riverside's Signature Event: a private VIP evening at Belvedere Palace. Touring the palace after hours was unforgettable, and seeing masterpieces like Gustav Klimt's The Kiss, his unfinished portrait of Amalie Zuckerkandl, and works by Monet without the usual crowds felt truly surreal.
The evening ended with a private orchestra performance inside the palace, just for our group. It was one of those moments that's hard to put into words — something I'll never forget.
Back on the ship, we gathered one last time for farewell drinks, reflecting on an unforgettable week together. It's hard to believe this FAM has already come to an end. The memories, friendships, and connections we made aboard Riverside are ones I'll carry with me long after this journey. I'm definitely not ready to say goodbye. 🥹
