June Marival Resorts Social Media Fam Recap

fam trips

When people think about FAM trips, they often think of tons of site inspections, even more room tours you can't even remember which category was which, and resort training after resort training. While those elements are important, The Social Passport FAM is designed with a much bigger purpose in mind.

Yes, we learn the destination. Yes, we experience the resorts. But we also focus on helping travel advisors become more confident content creators, stronger marketers, and more connected business owners.

Our June Riviera Nayarit FAM at Marival Resorts was filled with incredible experiences, meaningful conversations, and countless moments that reminded us why investing in yourself and your business matters.

Here's a look back at the week:

Day 1: Arriving in Paradise & Building Connections

The week officially kicked off as advisors arrived in beautiful Riviera Nayarit and transferred to the stunning Marival Armony Resort. Nestled along Mexico's Pacific coastline, the resort immediately sets the tone for what would be an unforgettable experience over the next 4 nights.

After settling in and taking in the breathtaking views, we all gathered for welcome cocktails at Blend Bar. While this may seem like a simple welcome event, it's actually one of the most important parts of any Social Passport FAM.

Before the trainings begin and before the content starts rolling, relationships need to be built.

Many of the advisors arrived knowing very few, or no people in the group. By the end of the week, they would leave with industry friendships, referral partners, and a support system that extends far beyond this trip. Creating space for those connections to happen is intentional because business & social media growth doesn't happen in isolation.

The conversations that start over welcome cocktails often become collaborations, partnerships, and friendships that continue long after the FAM ends.

Day 2: Education Meets Experience

Day two was packed with learning, resort experiences, and a perfect example of why experiential travel matters.

After a relaxed morning, we headed to Marival Emotions for resort training and our first social media training session of the week. As travel advisors, understanding a property goes far beyond memorizing room categories and amenities. It's about learning how to communicate the actual experience to potential clients.

Then Marival Emotions completely surprised us.

The moment we entered the lobby, we were welcomed with a full Greatest Showman performance. What followed was a carefully curated series of experiences including a mini cocktail class, DJ shout outs by the pool, massage teasers, local wellness rituals, cold towels, refreshments, room tours, and countless unexpected moments.

These experiences highlighted an important lesson for advisors: clients don't book features. They book feelings.

Nobody remembers square footage and room numbers. They remember how a destination made them feel. Experiencing these moments firsthand helps advisors tell more compelling stories when they return home and begin marketing the destination to their audience. It truly felt like we experienced a full week at the resort in just a few hours and we had the content to prove it!

The day continued with a site tour of Marival Distinct and an afternoon at their beach club Mozza Mare. While the weather doesn't always cooperate this time of year, but it served as a reminder that flexibility is one of the most important skills in both travel and business. Some of the best memories happen when plans change & some of the best content features exactly what your clients may encounter on their own trip.

Despite the clouds, that evening, we enjoyed dinner in Marival Emotions new Champagne Room.

As beautiful as the venues are, the real value was in the conversations happening around the table. Advisors shared wins, challenges, content ideas, and business goals. Those conversations often become just as valuable as any formal training session.

Day 3: Growth Happens Outside Your Comfort Zone

Rain fully arrived on day three, but so did some of the most meaningful moments of the entire week We started the morning with a stretching class before moving into activities designed to encourage creativity, reflection, and connection.

One of those activities involved creating a fingerprint tree, where each advisor contributed their own fingerprint to a collective piece of artwork. It became a surprisingly powerful visual representation of what makes these FAMs special. Every advisor brings different strengths, experiences, and perspectives. Together, those differences create a stronger community.

Then came the ice bath challenge... Nearly every advisor stepped in and completed the full three minutes! While it may seem unrelated to travel, it perfectly represented a challenge many advisors face in their business: stepping outside their comfort zone.

Whether it's showing up on video, posting consistently on social media, raising prices, or putting yourself out there online, growth often requires discomfort. Watching advisors encourage each other through the challenge became one of the most inspiring moments of the week.

The afternoon shifted due to rain, leading us into a painting class, dedicated social media work time, and a sound healing experience before dinner at Divum.

The day served as a reminder that some of the most impactful moments happen when things don't go according to plan. Adaptability isn't just a travel skill, it's an entrepreneurial skill!

Day 4: Content Creation, Confidence & Celebration

Day four is always one of the most anticipated days of a Social Passport FAM because it's dedicated to FULL content creation.

The morning featured a full content shoot complete with Bali beds, private pools, floating breakfasts, and incredible resort backdrops. But while the photos and videos were beautiful, the true transformation happened behind the camera.

One of the biggest obstacles many travel advisors face is confidence.

Confidence on camera.
Confidence showing up online.
Confidence being visible in their business.

Throughout the shoot, advisors supported each other every step of the way. They held phones, suggested poses, hyped each other up, and celebrated every successful shot. By the end of the morning, many advisors had created content they never would have attempted on their own.

That confidence doesn't stay in Mexico. It goes home with them and impacts how they market their business for months to come.

Later that afternoon, we experienced one of the week's most unexpected highlights when Marival hosted an incredible World Cup viewing experience for Mexico's opening match. Complete with giant screens, snacks, drinks, and a festive atmosphere, the entire resort came together to celebrate as Mexico secured the win.

The evening concluded with what has become my favorite tradition of every Riviera Nayarit FAM: going to Sayulita.

We explored the colorful streets, captured content throughout town, enjoyed authentic al pastor tacos, sipped margaritas, and wrapped up the week with dinner at Mary's.

Every year, Sayulita delivers the perfect ending because it reminds advisors that travel isn't just about resorts. It's about culture, connection, local experiences, and the stories that make a destination unforgettable.

More Than Just a FAM Trip

As the week came to a close, there were plenty of hugs, a few tears, and countless promises to stay connected Because while advisors certainly left with destination knowledge and incredible content, they also left with something much more valuable.

They left with confidence.

They left with new friendships.

They left with fresh ideas for their business.

They left with a support system.

And they left with a deeper understanding of how to market travel through storytelling rather than simply selling vacations. That's the difference between attending a FAM and experiencing a Social Passport FAM.

The photos, videos, and memories are incredible. But the growth that happens throughout the week is what truly makes the experience unforgettable!

Advisor Feedback:

"If you want to be more social, open yourself for content creation, and meet likeminded people this is the best experience. As a single mother of five and just being a travel agent my own way. This experience helped me to be more knowledgeable, open minded, and receptive to getting out of my normalcy."
